TRR Murphys Creek Challenge
The Toowoomba Road Runners presents the Murphys Creek Challenge on Sunday 16 August with three distance options on rural roads and tracks near Murphys Creek Recreation Reserve.

- 14 km
- 21.1 km (half marathon)
The course is an out-and-back route starting and finishing at Murphys Creek Recreation Reserve and is run mainly on dirt roads and a 4WD track along Penderest Road. The 14 km and half marathon options include a climb on Penderest Road. 7 km runners turn around at 3.5 km; 14 km runners turn around at 7 km. Half marathon participants complete one 14 km lap followed by the 7 km lap.
There are three water stops on course, positioned at the turnaround points and at the 5 km mark. Water and refreshments are available at the start and finish areas. Participants are advised to bring their own water and sun protection.
No dogs, prams, horses, bikes or scooters are permitted on the course. The post-event area at Murphys Creek Recreation Reserve will include a sausage sizzle, a coffee van and TRR merchandise for sale. Running clubs and groups may set up tents the day before the event.
Race packs are available for collection on Saturday 15 August at TriRunning, 94a Mort Street, Toowoomba from 9:00 to 12:00 and at Murphys Creek Recreation Reserve from 14:00 to 16:00. On event day race pack collection is available at the reserve from 5:30 to 6:40. Entry fees include a hot breakfast and are set at AUD 45 for 7 km, AUD 55 for 14 km and AUD 65 for the half marathon.
