Trot in the Trees 5K Trail Race and Fun Run
The Oyster River Youth Association, Durham Parks & Recreation and Madbury Recreation Commission present the sixth Trot in the Trees 5K Trail Race and 1 mile Fun Run on October 4, 2026 at Tibbetts Field in Madbury, NH. The event uses local trails around Tibbetts Field and includes a two mile loop through Powder Major Forest.
Distances:
- Fun Run: 1 mile
- 5K Trail Run: 3.1 miles
- ORYA Cross Country: 3.1 miles (participants only)
The trail course requires runners to negotiate natural terrain such as roots, mud and plenty of fall leaves, and features a hay-bale hurdle near the finish. The 1 mile Fun Run is designed to give younger participants a trail running experience.
Registration options include pre-registration and in-person registration on race morning. Fee details from the organizer:
- Fun Run: $15 through 10/3/26, $20 race day; shirts not included for Fun Run entrants.
- 5K Trail Run: Early bird through 9/6/26 $25, regular 9/7/26 through 10/3/26 $35, race day $40; race shirts are provided to 5K registrants who sign up by 9/6/26.
- ORYA Cross Country: no fee and open to program participants only, registration uses a special code.
