TakeOff Race / Trooper Iwaniec Memorial Race
The TakeOff Race is a memorial running event organized by the Trooper Iwaniec Memorial Foundation held at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The 2026 edition included a set of in-person races and multiple virtual mileage challenges, and race-day registration at the Fred Rogers Center was available for those who had not pre-registered.
In-person event offerings:
- 10K Run
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- 100M Children’s Sprint (ages 6 and under)
- 1/2 Mile Children’s Run (ages 10 and under)
Virtual events and challenges included a standard 10K and 5K, plus multi-distance challenges:
- 42 Mile Challenge : complete by April 30, 2026.
- 542 Mile Challenge : complete by December 31, 2026; registration includes race shirt, challenge medal, and commemorative decal.
- 1042 Mile Challenge : complete by December 31, 2026; registration includes race shirt, challenge medal, and commemorative decal.
Bundle options paired virtual challenges with in-person 5K or 10K entries for an additional fee. Entry fees varied by event and registration date; registration is non-refundable. In-person awards include medals for top finishers overall, law enforcement overall, and age-group awards; team awards and children’s ribbons are also presented. Virtual participants receive a downloadable participation certificate and a customized race bib, with results submitted through the event’s online registration system.
