TakeOff Race
The TakeOff Race is a memorial running event held in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, with both in-person and virtual participation options. The in-person portion takes place at Saint Vincent College on April 11, 2026, with race-day registration at the Fred Rogers Center. The event offers short children’s races, recreational walks, standard road race distances, and multi-month mileage challenges.
In-person distances:

- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- 100 m Children’s Sprint (ages 6 and under)
- 1/2 Mile Children’s Run (ages 10 and under)
Virtual events and challenges:
- 10K (walk or run)
- 5K (walk or run)
- 42 Mile Challenge (complete by April 30, 2026)
- 542 Mile Challenge (complete by December 31, 2026)
- 1042 Mile Challenge (complete by December 31, 2026)
The 42, 542, and 1042 mile challenges allow progress from running, walking, hiking, biking, swimming, paddling, or any combination of those activities. The 542 and 1042 Mile registrations include a race shirt, challenge medal, and commemorative decal. Bundled options pair virtual challenges with an in-person 5K or 10K for the same participant; bundled entries are not transferable. Registration fees vary by event and date of registration, and all registrations are non-refundable.
Awards for in-person events include medals for overall and age-group finishers, law enforcement categories, team awards, and ribbons for children's races. Virtual participants receive a downloadable participation certificate and a customized race bib. Results are submitted through the event’s online registration system.
