TakeOff Race (Trooper Kenton Iwaniec Memorial)
The TakeOff Race is an annual community running and walking event held in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The 18th annual event is listed for April 24, 2027 and organizers noted that 2027 event information will be posted in January 2027. The 2026 program included both in-person and virtual participation options.
In-person distances and youth events included:
- 10K Run
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- 100M Children’s Sprint for ages 6 and under
- 1/2 Mile Children’s Run for ages 10 and under
Virtual offerings and multiweek challenges included:
- 10K and 5K virtual events
- 42 Mile Challenge with progress tracked through April 30, 2026
- 542 Mile Challenge tracked through December 31, 2026, includes shirt, medal, and decal
- 1042 Mile Challenge tracked through December 31, 2026, includes shirt, medal, and decal Bundle options paired virtual challenges with an in-person 5K or 10K for an additional fee. Registration is non refundable.
The event is based at Saint Vincent College with registration handled at the Fred Rogers Center for the in-person day. In-person awards include medals for top overall finishers, law enforcement awards, age group medals, team awards, and ribbons for children. Virtual participants can download participation certificates and customized race bibs and may submit photos with results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
