Triple Dam 10K
The Triple Dam 10K is a 10 km trail loop in Perkinsville, Vermont, that starts and finishes at the Power Dam Recreation Area off Maple Street. The course runs from the old Perkinsville Power Dam downriver to North Springfield Reservoir on a mix of grassy trails and dirt roads, crosses the Black River at the base of the North Springfield Dam, then returns upstream on dirt roads and trails toward Stoughton Pond Dam before crossing the river again and finishing back at the Power Dam near a nearby swimming hole.
The river crossing is expected to be low and slow, approximately knee deep. A rope will be strung across the river and a lifeguard will be available to assist if requested.
Post-run provisions include water, electrolyte drink, Wellwood Orchards cider donuts, Mama Kapfer chocolate chip cookies, and Otter Pops. The finish area is adjacent to a popular swimming hole.
Prizes are awarded for 1st place female and male overall, masters 45 plus, age group categories including 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 plus, and a Top Dog award, plus additional fun or random prizes.
Pre-registration is available through Friday August 28 with listed fees by age group, and race day registration is offered. Parking is available near the start and finish. The event operates under a special use permit with the US Army Corps of Engineers and supports Springfield High School Cross Country.
