Course and logistics
The course is a loop on gently rolling terrain using a mix of grassy trails and dirt roads. It follows the Black River downriver to the North Springfield Reservoir, crosses at the base of the North Springfield Dam, returns upstream toward Stoughton Pond Dam, crosses through the Black River, and finishes back at the Power Dam near a swimming hole. The river crossing is expected to be low, about calf-deep and slow; a rope will be provided across the river and a lifeguard will be available. Post-run provisions include water, an electrolyte drink, cider donuts, cookies, and frozen treats. There is ample parking near the start/finish. Race-day registration accepts cash, check, or Venmo. Refunds and transfers are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
