Tricky Trout Paddle Triathlon
The Tricky Trout Paddle Triathlon is scheduled for July 25, 2026 and is organized by the Hayward Curling Club. Proceeds from the event benefit the club.
Participants choose from three race classes. In the Solo class an individual competes against other individuals. The Tandem class is a team of two that paddles together and combines run and bike times. The Relay class is for teams of two or three with one person assigned to each leg; on a two person relay, one team member may complete two legs.
This edition introduces staggered paddle start times, with entries sent off every 30 seconds. The run course includes trail sections and is not exclusively on road surfaces, offering shaded stretches. The event is open to ages 12 to 18; competitors who are under 14 on the event date must participate in the Tandem class with a team mate who is over 18. Registration includes a Tricky Trout logo dry bag. An after party with food and beverages is planned at the Hayward Curling Club.
