TriCheddar race information
TriCheddar stages sprint and super sprint triathlons in Cheddar Gorge with race day on Sunday 16 May 2027. Race headquarters is at Kings of Cheddar and the swim takes place in the venue's 25m indoor pool.
Distances offered
- Sprint: 400m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
- Super Sprint: 200m swim, 12.5k bike, 2.5k run
Registration is held on Saturday 15 May from 2pm to 5pm at Kings of Cheddar; competitors must bring photo ID and a British Triathlon licence. Emergency registration on race morning is only possible by prior arrangement with the organiser. Bike racking opens on race morning from 6:15 to 7:55am; marshals check bike safety items, seat-post sticker and that helmets are done up with the race number facing the front. No number, no entry to transition.
Swimmers start in waves of four per lane, grouped by predicted 100m time. Front strokes only; backstroke and butterfly are not permitted. The Sprint bike route includes the climb through the Gorge to Velvet Bottom and Charterhouse. The Super Sprint bike route is mostly flat with a small incline toward Nyland. Both routes are signposted and marshals are on course. The run is an out-and-back on the old Strawberry Line on grass and tarmac, largely flat with a short steep section known as a baby Jacob's Ladder.
Results are chip timed by K2 Sports with live results on the day, and performances count toward British Triathlon Federation race history. Parking is not permitted at Kings of Cheddar; free parking is provided next door at the industrial park with marshals directing vehicles.
