Event overview
Trails of Mena is a trail running event held on 21 March 2026 and organised by First Light Adventure. The event offers two race distances:
- Trail Marathon
- 20 mile trail run
Entry is open to participants aged 18 or older. Entry fees listed are: 20 mile run £28 (affiliated) or £30 (non-affiliated); marathon £30 (affiliated) or £32 (non-affiliated). Entries open 22 July 2025 and close 14 March 2026.
Course and support
The route is a clockwise circular course starting and finishing at North Wingfield Community Resource Centre, Whiteleas Avenue, North Wingfield, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S42 5PW. The course combines track, maintained trail, fields and woodland, and uses sections of the 5 Pits Trail and the Rowthorne Trail via Sutton Scarsdale and Silverhill without entering the Hardwick Hall grounds. The route will be lightly marked with arrows at major junctions and GPX files will be made available for both races.
Marshals will be positioned on course. The marathon includes two aid stations; water stops are provided for the races. All finishers receive a Trails of Mena medal, a warm drink and light refreshments. The event is the second edition and will make a donation to Spaniel Aid UK in memory of Mena.
