Event overview
Trails of Mena takes place on Saturday 21 March 2026 at North Wingfield Community Resource Centre, Whiteleas Avenue, North Wingfield, Chesterfield, Derbyshire (S42 5PW). The event is organised by First Light Adventure. Distances offered:
- Trail Marathon
- 20 mile trail run
Minimum age is 18. Entry fees listed are: 20 mile trail £28 (affiliated) / £30 (non affiliated); Trail Marathon £30 (affiliated) / £32 (non affiliated). Entries open 22 July 2025 and close 14 March 2026.
Course and support
The route is a clockwise circular course that links several of Mena’s favourite trails. It uses a mix of track, maintained trail, fields and woodland and follows the 5 Pits Trail to Sutton Scarsdale, then towards Hardwick Hall without entering the grounds, onto the Rowthorne Trail to Silverhill and back to race HQ on the 5 Pits Trail. The course is lightly marked with arrows at major junctions and GPX files and route notes are made available.
Marshals provide on-course support. The marathon includes two aid stations and there is an additional water stop. All finishers receive a Trails of Mena medal plus a warm drink and light refreshments. Dogs are not allowed under the event permit. A donation from the race will be made to Spaniel Aid UK in memory of Mena. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
