About the race
Trail Festival du Barrage is a trail event held on 19 September 2026 in the Parc Naturel des Deux Ourthes, centered on the Nisramont reservoir and with headquarters in Warempage, Ortho. The event uses largely offroad terrain; the organisers state more than 95% of the routes are unpaved and include rocks, tree roots, steep climbs and fast descents. Route markings use large black arrow boards and GPX files are available and recommended. The programme features multiple trail distances and a duo kayak plus trail format.
Key facts about logistics and support are: the new start and finish location in Warempage offers parking about 100 m from the venue, wider approach paths and no single tracks in the first three kilometres. Aid stations are located at the Nisramont dam and in Nadrin, with an extra station on the 48 km course in Engreux. Aid stations provide water, cola, fruit, cake and biscuits.
Disposable plastic cups are not used; participants must bring a personal cup or buy an eco cup. The duo kayak trail combines a 7 km trail, a 4 km kayak section and a 9 km trail. Duo teams must stay together, use provided duo kayaks and carry boats at designated places. Results are uploaded to UTMB and the 21 km and 28 km courses have UTMB Index 20k while the 48 km has UTMB Index 50k.
