Towpath Series
The Towpath Series comprises a sequence of four evening races: three 10 km events followed by a 5 km race. The route is a simple out and back along the towpath with a mixture of tarmac and gravel footpaths and some roots and rocks. The course is gently undulating and is marshalled throughout. There is no cut off time and a tail runner is provided.
Race headquarters are at Ashton Park School sports centre (BS3 2JL). Parking, changing and toilet facilities are available at the sports centre. Number collection and on the night registration take place at the sports centre between 6:30 and 7:15 pm. The race HQ and car park close at 10:00 pm. Competitors who entered online must collect their race number before the race and those entered in all races should keep their number for reuse.
A team event called the Mob Match allows clubs, companies and teams to enter as many members as they wish; the first 15 finishers score for a team and the club with its counters highest in the finishing positions wins a trophy. Prizes are presented after each race and series prizes include vouchers and trophies by category. Prize categories include 1st, 2nd and 3rd woman and man and first male and female veterans in 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 age groups. Every finisher receives a free raffle ticket and competitors must be present to collect any prize or it will be redrawn.
Competitors are asked not to wear headphones because parts of the course are narrow and marshals need to be heard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
