Town of Hempstead Triathlon
The event is a short course triathlon held at Town Park in Point Lookout. The course consists of a swim, bike, and run with distances listed as approximate and subject to change.
- 1/2 mile ocean swim
- 6 mile bike
- 2 mile run
Registration is not yet open and there are no race day signups. Spectators are welcome. Shirts are distributed on race day on a first come first serve basis. A changing area is provided.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in the following age groups: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 plus.
Entrants must be in good physical condition and able to complete the swim, bike, and run distances. Priority registration is given to Town of Hempstead residents. Equipment requirements include biking and running gear, a CPSC or Snell approved helmet, a brightly colored swim cap worn by each swimmer, and a personal water bottle for the bike leg. Wetsuits are permitted. Flotation devices, swim fins, and snorkels are not allowed. The swim is weather permitting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
