Town of Hempstead Triathlon
The Town of Hempstead Triathlon takes place on September 19, 2026 at Town Park at Point Lookout, 1300 Lido Blvd, Lido Beach, NY. The event is rain or shine and spectators are welcome.
Distances are:
- 1/2-mile swim
- 6-mile bike
- 2-mile run
The course includes an ocean swim and the bike and run courses are described as flat and fast. The course is organized as three loops and distances are approximate and subject to change.
Eligibility and registration details include age limits and fees. The event is for participants aged 18 and older. Priority is given to Town of Hempstead residents. There are resident and veteran discounts and processing fees are included in published totals. No race day sign-ups are allowed. Registration includes a shirt and a personalized bib if the participant registers at least three weeks before the event; shirts will be distributed on race day on a first come first serve basis.
Required equipment and rules are specified. Swimmers must wear a brightly colored swim cap. Cyclists must wear a CPSC or Snell approved helmet. Participants must provide their own biking and running gear and a water bottle for the bike leg. Specific swim, bike, and run rules apply and violations can result in disqualification.
