Town of Hempstead Triathlon
The Town of Hempstead Triathlon takes place on September 19, 2026 at Town Park at Point Lookout, 1300 Lido Blvd, Lido Beach, NY. The event is held rain or shine and is limited to participants aged 18 and older. Spectators are welcome.
The race format includes these approximate distances:
- 1/2-mile swim
- 6-mile bike
- 2-mile run
The swim is held in the ocean. The bike and run courses are described as flat and fast, run as three loops, and distances are approximate and subject to change.
Equipment and participant rules require each swimmer to wear a brightly colored swim cap, each cyclist to wear a CPSC or Snell approved helmet, and each participant to provide their own biking and running gear and a personal water bottle for the bike leg. Numbers must be clearly displayed; specific marking and placement rules apply for each discipline. Wetsuits are permitted and flotation devices are not allowed. Any assistance to a swimmer results in disqualification.
Registration information indicates fees include a processing charge, with discounted rates for Town of Hempstead residents and veterans. No race day sign-ups are allowed. All registration fees are non refundable and non transferable. Shirts are distributed on race day on a first come first serve basis. Names are printed on personalized bibs if registered at least three weeks before race day.
Amenities include a changing area. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers across standard age brackets from 18-24 through 65 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
