Town of Hempstead Triathlon
The Town of Hempstead Triathlon at Point Lookout is a multi-sport race composed of a swim, a bike leg, and a run. Distances are approximate and subject to change; the swim may be affected by weather.
- 1/2 mile ocean swim
- 6 mile bike
- 2 mile run
Registration is not yet open and will open ahead of the event. There are no race day sign-ups. Priority entry consideration is given to Town of Hempstead residents.
Participants must be able to complete the specified swim, bike, and run distances and must provide their own equipment. Required items include biking and running gear, a personal water bottle for the bike leg, a CPSC or Snell approved helmet, and a brightly colored swim cap which all swimmers must wear. Wetsuits are permitted; flotation devices, swim fins, and snorkels are not allowed.
Amenities listed include a changing area. Spectators are welcome. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in age groups 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+. Results and race-day photos are provided online, including live results and same-day finish line pictures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
