Town of Hempstead Triathlon
The Town of Hempstead Triathlon is scheduled for September 19, 2026 at Town Park at Point Lookout, 1300 Lido Blvd, Lido Beach, NY. The event is held rain or shine and spectators are welcome. No race day sign ups are permitted.
The race consists of these segments:
- 1/2 mile ocean swim
- 6 mile bike
- 2 mile run
Distances are approximate. The course uses three loops. The biking and running courses are described as flat and fast. The swim is ocean based and is subject to weather conditions.
Entry is restricted to participants age 18 and older. Each entrant must be in good physical condition and able to complete the swim, bike, and run distances. Priority is given to Town of Hempstead residents. Registration includes a shirt and a personalized bib if registered at least three weeks before race day; shirts are distributed on race day on a first come first serve basis. No race day registrations are allowed.
Required equipment includes participant provided biking and running gear, a CPSC or Snell approved helmet for the bike leg, a brightly colored swim cap for the swim, and a personal water bottle for the bike leg. Amenities include a changing area. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in specified age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
