Event details
Totley Moor is the third race in the Totley AC series of five races. The event takes place from Totley AC Pavilion near the Cricket Inn on Penny Lane, Sheffield (S17 3AZ). Entry is limited to 250 runners. Entry is available by pre-entry and on the day if the race is not full. The entry fee is £7.00 plus a £0.95 administration charge.
The race distance is 10.5 km (6.5 miles) with a total climb of 440 metres. Under FRA definitions this is a Category B medium race.
Course and safety requirements
The route is a fixed, well marshalled course over varied terrain including road, track and footpath through woodland, fields and open moorland. Checkpoints are marked on the route map and runners must pass checkpoints in numerical order and remain on the designated paths. Road crossings will be marshalled but competitors are responsible for their own safety. Entrants may not take dogs on the course.
The event is held under FRA rules. Runners must carry the kit required by the Race Organiser; mandatory kit inspections may be performed. Recommended FRA best practice kit includes a waterproof whole-body cover (taped seams and attached hood), hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Race numbers must be visible at start, checkpoints and finish; failure to follow kit or route rules can lead to disqualification.
Prizes and facilities
There will be a prizegiving inside the bar area. Prizes include top three male and female, first Totley runner, age-group prizes (18-23, Senior, V40, V50, V60, V70) and a couple of spot prizes.
