Event details
The race is organised by Totley AC and starts and finishes at the Totley AC pavilion behind the Cricket Inn (S17 3AZ, grid reference 302799). The course distance is 10.5 km (6.5 miles) with total climb of 440 m (1,444 ft). It is classed as a Category B medium fell race under FRA definitions. Minimum age for entry is 18. There is an entry limit of 250 and teams of three are allowed. The event holds a race permit and associated UK Athletics insurance.
Course and rules
The route is a fixed, well marshalled circuit over varied terrain including road, track and footpath through woodland, fields and open moorland. Checkpoints are marked on the route map and runners must pass them in numerical sequence and stay on the designated paths. FRA Best Practice kit is recommended and runners must carry any mandatory kit required by the Race Organiser; kit inspections may be carried out and failure to carry required kit can lead to disqualification. Road crossings are marshalled but competitors are responsible for their own safety. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
Entry, facilities and prizes
Pre-entry is required. Facilities at the venue include changing rooms, showers, toilets, food and a pub; parking is limited. Prizes include top three male and female and awards by age group, plus a prize for first Totley runner and a few spot prizes. Prize giving is held inside the bar area.
