Totley Moor
Totley Moor is a fixed-route race that starts and finishes outside the Totley AC pavilion at the top of the field behind the Cricket Inn, Penny Lane, Sheffield S17 3AZ. The course covers 10.5 km (6.5 miles) and includes approximately 440 metres of climb. Under FRA definitions the event is a Category B medium race and is marshalled throughout.
The route runs over varied terrain including road, track and footpath through woodland, fields and open moorland. Checkpoints are marked on the published map and runners must remain on the designated paths and pass checkpoints in sequence. Any deviation from the indicated route may lead to disqualification under the race license conditions.
There is an entry limit of 250. Changing facilities, toilets and showers are available in the pavilion. Limited off-road parking is signposted on the day and some on-street parking may be available; organisers encourage car sharing and use of local bus services to reduce impact on the community.
Runners must comply with FRA requirements. Mandatory or discretionary kit may be specified by the Race Organiser depending on conditions; FRA Best Practice items listed for the event include a waterproof whole-body cover with attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, and emergency food. Kit inspections may be carried out before the start and after finishing. Race numbers must be worn visibly and not altered. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
