5k Beer Run x Torrent Brewing : Ames, IA
The event is an untimed, about 5K fun run that starts and ends at Torrent Brewing Company in Ames. The mapped course passes Brookside Park and downtown and uses public roads; participants are responsible for obeying traffic laws and remaining aware of their surroundings.
Registration includes one craft beverage from Torrent Brewing, a collector's pint glass or a Brewery Running Series swag item, and access to on-site activities when available such as live music, food trucks, and partner games. Participants under 21 receive a token for a nonalcoholic beverage; a valid ID is required to claim alcoholic beverages.
The event is organized by the Iowa Brewery Running Series. The organizer runs events across multiple states and reports that a portion of proceeds from this event will support a local nonprofit. The series states it has organized hundreds of events per year and has raised more than $700,000 to date across its events.
The run is open to walkers, joggers, and runners. Registration is limited to the capacity of the taproom. The event will proceed in rain or shine.
