5k Beer Run x Torrent Brewing
The Iowa Brewery Running Series organizes a 5k-ish fun run in Ames, Iowa. The event starts and ends at the Torrent Brewing Company taproom and follows a route through Brookside Park and the downtown area. This is an untimed event where participants are welcome to run, walk, or jog at their own pace.
The course remains open to the public, meaning participants are responsible for obeying all traffic laws while on the roads. The event is held rain or shine. Registration is limited based on the capacity of the brewery taproom to ensure a manageable experience for all attendees.
Participants receive the following as part of their registration:
- 5 km (approximate) fun run course
- One craft beverage from Torrent Brewing
- A collector's pint glass or a promotional item from the series
- Access to event festivities such as live music, food trucks, and games
The event serves a charitable purpose, as a portion of all proceeds is donated to local nonprofit organizations. While the run is open to all ages, participants must be 21 years of age or older and present a valid ID to consume alcoholic beverages.
