Top Of The World Ultra, Sun Peaks BC

Top Of The World Ultra takes place in Sun Peaks Main Village at the base of the Sunburst Express chair lift on June 27, 2026. The event offers three trail distances that use single track, technical sections, forest service roads, meadows and downhill runs.

The event supports the Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society with a five dollar donation included in registration. Registration includes a bib, finisher medal and custom finisher cup, on course aid stations and finish line food. Results are recorded via a timing app rather than chip timing.

Course details: the 50 km route reaches the summit of Mount Tod (2130 m), crosses Orient Hill, passes Little McGillivray Lake and ascends Mount Morrisey, covering roughly 1600 m of elevation gain and loss with three aid stations and two water stations. The 28 km route reaches Mount Tod and returns via Valley View Trail with about 1164 m of elevation and two aid stations. The 15 km route climbs to the top of the Sunburst Express and returns via Valley View Trail with about 673 m of elevation and one aid station.

Practical information: the event is cupless so participants must carry a reusable cup and be able to carry a minimum of one litre of water. Trail running shoes and hydration packs are required. Poles are permitted. A single drop bag is allowed for 50 km runners at the second aid station. Participant numbers are limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
