Top Of The World Ultra at Sun Peaks, British Columbia
Top Of The World is a trail running event held in Sun Peaks on June 27, 2026, featuring three route options and supporting the Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society. Courses use singletrack, technical ascents and descents, forest service roads, meadows and forests.
Distances offered
- 50 km: crosses all three Sun Peaks mountains, reaches the Mount Tod summit at 2130 m and passes Orient Hill, Little McGillivray Lake and Mount Morrisey. Approximately 1600 m of total elevation gain and loss. Three aid stations and two water stations on course.
- 28 km: climbs to Mount Tod then returns toward the start via Valley View Trail. Approximately 1164 m of total elevation change. Two aid stations.
- 15 km (closer to 17 km): climbs to the top of the Sunburst Express then descends via Valley View Trail. Approximately 673 m of total elevation change. One aid station.
Registration includes a $5 donation to Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society, a finisher medal, a custom finisher cup, bib number and timing via a timing app rather than chips. The event caps at 400 participants for 2026 and offers a virtual option with mailed participant packages. Practical policies note a cupless format, a minimum personal water carrying requirement of 1 litre, allowance of poles, and a drop bag permitted for 50 km at the second aid station near 27 km.
