Toonerville Trail Turkey Trot 5K
The Toonerville Trail Turkey Trot 5K takes place on November 26, 2026 in Springfield, VT. Organized by Run Like Ardy, the event starts and finishes at the Toonerville Trail trailhead, 280 Clinton Street. The course is a mostly flat 5K out-and-back along the Black River.
Proceeds benefit the Springfield Food Bank, Weathersfield Food Shelf, and the Springfield High School Cross Country team. The event includes a food drive: one ticket for a drawing is given for each canned or nonperishable food item brought. The drawing prize is a fully compostable wreath made by the Weathersfield Garden Club.
Registration options and fees:
- Online registration $25, open through Tuesday, November 24 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
- In person registration at packet pick-up and day of event $30.
Packet pick-up:
- Wednesday, November 25, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Edgar May Health & Recreation Center, 140 Clinton Street.
- Thursday, November 26, 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. at the Toonerville Trail trailhead.
Post-run refreshments include water, an electrolyte drink, light snacks, and cider donuts from Baltimore Road Greenhouse and Farm. Finishers receive a pair of Turkey Trot finisher socks. Prizes are awarded for 1st place male and female overall, age groups, best costume, and other fun prizes.
Parking is available at the trailhead between Image Tek Labels and United Construction & Forestry; carpooling is encouraged. No refunds or transfers are allowed. Music players, strollers, and well behaved short leashed dogs are permitted; runners should use one earbud and exercise caution on the short road section near the turnaround.
