Tongariro River Trail - Turangi, Taupo
The event on 12th September 2026 is based at Taupahi Reserve in Turangi and follows the alpine fed Tongariro River. The course runs through native birch forest, crosses swing bridges on Department of Conservation land, and passes areas used for freshwater fishing. The river and surrounding forest are features of the route.
