Tombstone Trot

Tombstone Trot is a run and walk event held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha, Wisconsin, at 605 S Prairie Ave, 53186. The event offers multiple distances and a course that runs through the cemetery's tree-lined historic grounds, passing landscaped areas and sections that display seasonal fall colors. The start and finish are lined with American flags.

A portion of event proceeds will benefit Friends of Prairie Home Cemetery, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to preserve and enhance the cemetery. Funds raised this year are designated for installation of a monument and a flagpole in the newer Veterans section. Friends of Prairie Home Cemetery will operate a 50/50 raffle; tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Prairie Home Cemetery history books will be available for purchase for $10 each.

Registration details vary by event. Most events open registration on January 1, 2026, and close on August 30, 2026. The youth "Kiddos Run" has a different registration close date in October 2026. Entry fees for the main events are $32.50; the Kiddos Run is free.
