Tom Walker Half Marathon & 5k
The Tom Walker event in Gainesville features a half marathon and a 5K held on the paved Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail with the start area at First Magnitude Brewing in Gainesville. The half marathon includes a course time limit of 3.5 hours.
Registration opens February 13, 2026 and closes July 28, 2026. Registration fees are $50.00 for the half marathon and $25.00 for the 5K.
Pacing support is planned for the half marathon with run-only pacers targeting the following finish times and paces: 1:30 (6:52 per mile), 1:40 (7:37 per mile), 1:50 (8:24 per mile), 2:00 (9:09 per mile), 2:10 (9:55 per mile) and 2:20 (10:40 per mile). These pacers are intended for running only and are not designated as walk/run pacers.
The event is volunteer-led and organizers indicate a need for volunteers. The Florida Track Club offers membership options associated with the event period: individual $40, family $65, student $25, and senior rates of $25 for an individual or $40 for a family.
