Event Overview
The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile is held in Parma, Ohio, at James Day Park (Nike Park). The event honors Tom Schreiber, who was a track and cross-country coach for over twenty years at Alliance High School and Valley Forge High School. The event proceeds fund a scholarship for a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District.
Event Format
The event offers multiple race distances:
- Scholastic Division 5K for ages 5-18
- Standard 5K
- 1 Mile
- Combo event (1 Mile and 5K)
- Virtual 5K
All events are chip-timed. The 5K course provides split points at every mile, and the 1 Mile course has a split at the half-mile point. Live participant tracking is available via a mobile app. Participants who register for both the 1 Mile and 5K will have their times combined for the combo category ranking.
Participant Experience
