Tom Madzy 5K & Dog Walk

The event takes place at the Roehm Athletic Complex in Berea, Ohio, with the course starting and ending at Lou Groza Field and finishing on the football field. Two distances are offered:

5K - 3.1 Miles
1 Mile Walk - 1 Mile

The 5K is chip-timed; the 1 Mile Fun Walk is untimed. Pre-registration fees listed are $25 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile. Race day fees increase to $30 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 Mile. Registration opens January 20, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. Race shirts are guaranteed through Tuesday, September 22; sizes are subject to availability after that date. Early packet pickup is available at a specified retail location on a date before the event. Post-race refreshments will be provided to participants.

Awards for the 5K include top overall male and female finishers and top three finishers in the following age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over. All proceeds support the Madzy Fund to help cover participation fees for student athletes at Berea-Midpark schools and for local youth baseball and football programs.
