Tom Brennan Memorial 5K - Phoenix Park, January 1, 2027
The Tom Brennan Memorial 5K is a chip-timed road race held in Phoenix Park and organised by Liffey Valley AC. The course is described as flat and fast, intended to be PB-friendly, and it starts and finishes on Furze Road (past the Eagle Monument on Chesterfield Avenue). A permit has been approved (cert. no. 26/240).
All finishers receive a bespoke bobble hat. Race numbers are chipped and posted in advance; there are no registrations on the day. The published entry fee is €28.50. The event forms part of the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge and has a minimum age of 13 years.
Prizes include awards for the first three men and first three women, a €200 bonus prize for the first man or woman if the course record is broken, first junior man and woman, and team prizes for the first three men’s and women’s teams (three scoring members). Veteran categories are listed as O/35, O/40, O/45, O/50, O/55, O/60, O/65, O/70 and O/75; at least three entrants per age group are required for a prize to be awarded.
