TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run and Festival of Miles
The TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run and Festival of Miles is an annual athletic event held in Downtown Tucson. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the event features several road races through the city streets. The primary event is a night race that follows a 5k course through the downtown area.
Participants can choose from various race categories:
- 5k Night Run and Walk
- 1 Mile Festival of Miles for all ages and abilities
- 1 Mile High School and Junior High School Mile
- 1 Mile FitKidz Mile for children 12 and under
The Festival of Miles is open to a wide range of participants, including walkers and competitive runners. Top finishers in this category are eligible for prize money. The High School Mile is a free event for younger students, with awards provided for both individual runners and teams. The FitKidz Mile offers a free opportunity for children to participate, and parents are permitted to accompany their children on the course after completing a waiver.
This event also serves as the first leg of the Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown, a multi-race series. Those registered for the Triple Crown participate in this night run, followed by a 10k or 5k in September and a half-marathon or 4-miler in October. The main 5k race and the Festival of Miles include official timing and commemorative shirts for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
