Tiree 10k & Half Marathon
The Tiree 10k & Half Marathon is an annual running event on the Hebridean island of Tiree, held on Saturday 1 May 2027. The event takes place along coastal roads with both races starting and finishing on a beach. The course for both events follows the coast to Hynish; the 10 km is an out-and-back to Hynish and return, while the half marathon continues around the west end of the island. A split for the 10 km occurs just before the 7 km mark and is clearly marked.
Race registration includes number collection at An Talla and an evening programme at An Talla that features a dance and a prizegiving. Prizes are awarded for top overall results, age groups, teams and some spot prizes. All entrants receive a goodie bag at registration and a race memento at the finish; medals are locally crafted rather than mass produced.
The event began in 2006 and welcomes visiting runners as well as local participants. A Tri-island challenge links the Mull, Coll and Tiree events, offering a special medal and a combined-time competition. Entry fees are non-refundable once paid; the organiser's cancellation policy recommends considering event insurance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
