Tiree Ultramarathon
The Tiree Ultramarathon is a coastal loop around the Isle of Tiree held on Sunday 6th September 2026. The course covers 35 miles and follows the island circumference, visiting 14 beaches and finishing after crossing Gott Bay. The route starts and finishes at Scarinish Beach Hotel by the harbour and is run clockwise with the sea kept on the left. Participants follow a series of checkpoints with simple navigation between them; route arrows and an event team will be in place. Entrants receive a course map, a technical t-shirt, a medal and a goodie bag. Prize giving and an island ceilidh are scheduled on Sunday evening. Entry is available for individuals or relay teams of two. The published cut-off time for the full distance is 10 hours. The event is sponsored by the makers of Tyree Gin.
Logistics and policies
Race headquarters is at The Scarinish Hotel for the weekend. Entry for 2026 opens on Sunday 2nd November. All entries are non-refundable. The organisers offer two transfer windows for places; there are no deferrals, refunds or transfers outside those windows. If the event is cancelled for reasons outside the organisers control, entry fees will not be refunded, including cancellations due to weather. If ferry or plane travel is disrupted, no refund or deferral will be provided. Cancellation and travel insurance are recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
