About the race
TinMan Joburg is a multisport triathlon and duathlon series held at Prime View, Olifantsfontein, Midrand, Gauteng. The event programme on 10 October 2027 is one of six race dates at the venue during the 2027 TINMAN Series.
Competition formats and distances include:
- Mini Tri Individual: 200 m swim / 6 km cycle / 2.5 km run, 8 years and up
- Super Sprint Tri: 400 m swim / 10 km cycle / 2.5 km run, 12 years and up
- Sprint Tri & Relay: 750 m swim / 20 km cycle / 5 km run, 16 years and up, 2 hr 45 cut off
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km run / 20 km cycle / 2.5 km run, 16 years and up, 3 hr cut off
- Challenge Tri & Relay: 1.2 km swim / 40 km cycle / 10 km run, 18 years and up, 3 hr 50 cut off
Swimming takes place in the dam, cycling is on closed public roads, and running is offroad on gravel roads. The Challenge distance and teams are non-drafting; other distances are draft legal. Race services include timing chip, race number, finishers medal, medical assistance, swim lifeguards, run marshals, full road closure for the bike leg, ice cold aQuelle at the finish, a race sox pair, and prizes for top three male and female finishers.
