Time and a Half Relay & 5K
The Time and a Half Race is an inaugural running event taking place on September 6, 2026 at Steelworkers Park, 87th at S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60617. It is organized by Lake Effect Community Development (501c3) and is located adjacent to the future site of the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park along Chicago's lakefront.
The event offers two race options:
- 12 Miles - 4 person relay team
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
Registration opens May 16, 2026 and closes September 6, 2026. Registration fees listed are $200.00 for the 12 Mile, 4 person team and $45.00 for the 5K.
The race acknowledges the South Chicago community's history of steel production and its cultural legacy.
