Event
The Timberman Triathlon takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Sugar Lake Lodge in Cohasset, Minnesota (37584 Otis Lane, Cohasset, MN 55721). The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and requires each participant to hold an annual USAT membership or purchase a one-day license. Registration closes Thursday, July 9, 2026 (11:59 pm).
Race distances
- Olympic: 1 mile swim (1760 yards), 25 mile bike, 6 mile run
- Sprint: 1/3 mile swim (587 yards), 11 mile bike, 3 mile run
- Super Sprint: 0.15 mile swim (264 yards), 5.5 mile bike, 1.5 mile run
Teams of two or three may enter the Olympic and Sprint races; the Super Sprint is for individuals only.
Course and timing
The swim takes place in Sugar Lake. The bike uses rural county roads, most newly paved. The run is mostly flat, passing through the resort and running out-and-back on pavement, with some gravel on the Olympic course. Timing is chip-based and provided by Pickle Events; full split results will be posted on the timing provider’s website.
Awards and fees
Olympic and Sprint individuals receive awards for 1st to 3rd in all age groups. Age groups follow USAT categories (0-15, 16-19, 20-24, ... 85+), with race age by December 31, 2026. Team first-place awards are given in men’s, women’s, and coed divisions. Super Sprint awards go to the top five overall men and women.
Early registration fees listed: Olympic and Sprint $80.00 plus USAT fees until July 7, 2026; $125.00 plus USAT fees from July 8 to July 9, 2026. Olympic and Sprint teams $170.00 plus USAT fees until July 7, 2026; $200.00 plus USAT fees from July 8 to July 9, 2026. Super Sprint $70.00 (USAT fees not included) until registration closes.
