Event Overview
The Running the Rapids Half Marathon and 5K is a multi-distance running event held in Cohasset, Minnesota. All activities start and finish at Portage Park. The routes take participants through scenic roadways and paths across Cohasset and Grand Rapids. Participants experience local landscapes including lakes, trees, and parks.
Course Information
The course passes around Little Jay Gould Lake, follows a scenic trail and roadway, and continues around Horseshoe Lake toward the finish line. The half marathon course is supported for 3.5 hours, which equates to a 16:00 per mile pace. After this time, participants must move to the sidewalks and follow pedestrian laws. The races utilize chip-timing. While headphones are allowed, strollers are not permitted on any of the courses. Available event distances include:

- Half Marathon Relay (Two runners)
- 5K
Relay and Participation Details
The half marathon relay is a two-person event. The first runner begins at Portage Park, while the second runner is transported by bus to an exchange zone located at approximately the halfway point. Once the runners tag off, the second participant completes the remaining distance. A bus is provided to transport the first runner to the finish area.
All participants in the half marathon, relay, and 5K receive a race shirt, an official medal, a swag bag, and a post-race beverage provided by Klockow Brewing Company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
