Running the Rapids Half Marathon and 5K : Cohasset, MN
The event offers three race options at Portage Park, 25570 Katherine Avenue, Cohasset, MN 55721. Distances available:
- 5K
- Half Marathon
- Half Marathon Relay (two-runner teams; exchange at approximately the halfway point)
Registration opens March 1, 2026. Listed entry fees are $38.10 for the 5K, $69.90 for the half marathon, and $43.40 for the relay, each including a fee.
Course, timing and race services
The course runs through roadways and paths in Cohasset and Grand Rapids, including a loop around Little Jay Gould Lake, a scenic trail and roadway section, and a loop around Horseshoe Lake before returning to Portage Park. All races start and finish at Portage Park and are chip-timed. The half marathon course is supported for 3.5 hours; participants on the course after that time must use sidewalks and follow pedestrian and traffic laws.
Race services and rules noted by the organizer: participants in the half marathon, relay and 5K receive an official medal, swag bag, race shirt and a post-race beverage provided by Klockow Brewing Company. Headphones are permitted; strollers are not allowed. In the relay format, the second runner is transported by bus to the exchange zone while the first runner begins at the start.
