Event Overview
The Tilston 10k is a rural running event held on quiet country roads. Established in 2012, the race follows a route through local lanes that are subject to a full road closure for the duration of the event. The course is fully signed and marshalled to assist participants throughout the distance.
The event is organized to support the Tilston Playing Field Association, with all proceeds contributing to the maintenance of the local playing field, play equipment, and pump track. The registration area and finish line are located at the playing field, where participants have access to toilet facilities and childrens' play equipment.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km adult race (open to those aged 15 and over)
- 3.1 km children's race (Year 9 and under)
- 2.8 km children's race (Year 6 and under)
- 1.2 km children's race (Year 3 and under)
Participation Details
The event uses chip timing for the 10 km distance and has no designated cut-off times. The field is limited to 300 runners. First aid provision is available on-site. At the finish, participants receive medals and refreshments. Trophies are awarded in various categories, including overall winners, female winners, and age-based groups such as under-20s, over-40s, over-50s, and over-60s. Specialized trophies are also designated for Tilston residents and first-time runners.
Children's races take place on the same closed road course as the main event. Registration for the shorter children's distances is available on the day of the race only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
