Los Alamos NJROTC Extreme 5K and Fun Run
Los Alamos High School NJROTC is presenting a rebranded 5K and Fun Run event on September 12, 2026, at Sullivan Field, 4000 University Dr., Los Alamos, NM 87544. The event serves as a fundraiser for the three-time state champion LAHS NJROTC Topper Company and continues to bring attention to suicide prevention.
Event formats include:
- 5K in-person, includes run tee and completion swag bag.
- 1 mile Fun Run, includes event tee.
- Virtual 5K, includes run tee and swag bag mailed in early October.
Entry fees listed for each format are $50 for the in-person 5K, $30 for the Fun Run, and $40 for the virtual 5K. T-shirt giveaways end on August 30; registrations after that date will not receive a shirt. Walkers may participate in the in-person 5K. The proposed course is an out-and-back route.
Several discount options are noted: donations of $50 or more for the 5K or virtual 5K reduce the registration fee by $15; donations of $30 or more for the Fun Run reduce the fee by $5. A Family and Friends registration for four or more simultaneous registrants reduces the fee by $10 each for the 5K and by $5 each for the Fun Run.
