Event Overview
The Jemez Mountain Trail Runs take place in the Jemez Mountains of northern New Mexico. The races start and end in the town of Los Alamos. The organizer is a nonprofit that has donated funds to local organizations and scholarships since the race's inception in 2006.
Distances & Registration
The event offers three distances: 50 Miler, 50K, and 15 Miler. Registration for all races opens on January 3, 2026. Entry fees are $100 for the 15 mile, $150 for the 50km, and $175 for the 50 mile. A price increase of $25 will occur on April 1, 2026. Registration closes on May 2, 2026. A partial refund policy is in place until May 1, 2025, only if a waitlisted runner can fill the spot.
Course & Conditions
The course is on technical trails with substantial elevation change, ranging from 7,000 to over 10,000 feet above sea level. The 50k and 50 mile events include extremely steep climbs and descents. Runners may encounter obstacles like fallen trees. Past events have experienced weather extremes including heat, cold, rain, hail, snow, lightning, and wind. A mandatory gear policy is in effect to enhance safety during inclement weather, and race officials can require specific gear at the start or aid stations.
Participant Benefits
