Thruxton Mass Attack Duathlon
The Thruxton Mass Attack Duathlon takes place at the Thruxton Race Circuit near Andover, Hampshire. The event utilizes the famous motor racing track, which provides a wide and smooth tarmac surface for all participants. The venue features a spectator viewing area and an on-site cafe.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- Standard Distance: An 11.4 km run (3 laps), a 38 km cycle (10 laps), and a final 3.8 km run (1 lap).
- Sprint Distance: A 3.8 km run (1 lap), a 19 km cycle (5 laps), and a final 3.8 km run (1 lap).
The event serves as a qualifying race for the GB 2027 World Duathlon Age Group Championships for both distances. The Standard Distance is a non-drafting competition where TT bikes are permitted. In contrast, the Sprint Distance is a draft-legal race where TT bikes are not allowed.
The race environment includes live commentary and music. Facilities at the circuit include free parking for participants and spectators. For those traveling from further away, overnight motorhome parking is available on-site, though this requires pre-booking and is subject to specific gate closure times between 20:00 and 06:00.
The competition is open to various age groups, with the Sprint Distance available to those aged 15 and over, and the Standard Distance open to those 17 and over by the end of the competition year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
