Through the Darkness

Through the Darkness is an inclusive and flexible endurance running event held at Okehampton Army Camp in Dartmoor National Park on 20 to 21 June 2026. The route uses a mix of tarmac tracks and gravel trails around a single 12 km lap. Participants have 12 hours to run, jog or walk as many laps as possible, individually or as part of a team.

The event provides a fully marked course and a staffed checkpoint with snacks, drinks and hot water. Timing chips are used and results are displayed live. Medical and therapist support and general safety cover are provided. Finishers receive a bespoke medal with ribbon colours that indicate the number of completed laps.

Facilities include overnight camping; vehicle parking is available for an additional fee of £5. Prizes are awarded for the most laps completed in the shortest time for first female, first male and first team. A prize is also offered for the highest amount raised via a JustGiving fundraising page.

Entries open on 21 April 2026 and close on 13 June 2026. The published entry fee is £65, excluding a booking fee of £3.90. Minimum age to enter is 18. The event is organised by North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
