Three Little Pigs 5K Trail Run
The Three Little Pigs 5K Trail Run is a timed trail race at Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge in Pittsboro, North Carolina, held on October 10, 2026. The course consists of three loops on gravel roads that wind through fields and forests across the refuge and includes access to new land planned for rescued pigs.
Participants pass by animal houses and habitats for rescued goats, sheep, cows, ducks, geese, and chickens. Immediately after the officially timed 5K there is a family friendly Fun Run that allows people to travel at their own pace to the new pig habitat, where a tour guide will explain the refuge’s plans for pig housing.
The event features food and drink vendors and a trophy ceremony for race winners. Organizers are seeking sponsors and offer sponsorship levels and perks. Proceeds support Phase 2 of The Pig Project, a campaign to build houses and infrastructure so rescued pigs can have a permanent home.
Participants who register before September 18 will receive race t shirts, swag bags, and finisher medals. Early bird registration is listed at $30, regular registration at $40 beginning August 1, and day of registration at $50. A trail preview of the race course is available.
