Event Details
The Three Castles 50km is a point-to-point ultra marathon held on 30 May 2026. The race starts at Rochester Castle and follows the River Medway to finish with a lap of the athletics track at Tonbridge School Centre. The course is mainly flat, using trails, towpaths, and some country lanes.
Course and Logistics
The 50km route passes three medieval castles and several villages, including Burham, Wouldham, Aylesford, Maidstone, East Farleigh, and Yalding. There are three aid stations located at approximately 13km (Aylesford Priory), 24km (Barming Bridge), and 37km (Hop Farm). A shuttle bus is available for purchase to transport runners from the finish to the start. Bag transfer to the finish line is included.
The event uses a wave start system with three waves at 09:00, 09:15, and 09:30. Waves are assigned based on estimated finish time submitted during registration. The overall cut-off time is 9 hours, with individual cut-offs at each checkpoint.
Requirements and Rules
Participants must be at least 20 years old on race day. The race has a zero-tolerance policy for littering and does not allow pacers, buddy runners, dogs on the course, or crewing at official aid stations. Runners must check in at all checkpoints.
