Three Capes Marathon Relay
Three Capes Marathon Relay follows the Three Capes Scenic Loop from Cape Meares to Pacific City and covers a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles. The route starts and ends at sea level and includes nearly 2,400 feet of total climb.
The course runs through or adjacent to six State Parks, two National Wildlife Refuges, and several County Parks, with views of Tillamook Bay, Netarts Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. The terrain is varied and includes sections rated from easy to extremely difficult.
Participants may compete as a solo marathoner, a two-person team, or a five-person team. Team divisions include Family, Business, School, and Clydesdale (all runners or walkers over 200 pounds). Entry fees listed for the event are: five-person team $339, two-person team $165, and solo marathoner $95. The event is organized by Ultimook as a nonprofit and benefits youth running programs in the Pacific Northwest.
The course is divided into five legs with differing distances and difficulty ratings. Choose legs to match team abilities.

- Leg 2 5.44 miles rated difficult
- Leg 3 5.02 miles rated extremely difficult
- Leg 4 4.25 miles rated easy
- Leg 5 4.45 miles rated easy
