Three Capes Marathon Relay
The Three Capes Marathon Relay runs along the Three Capes Scenic Loop from Cape Meares to Pacific City. The route passes Cape Lookout and finishes at Cape Kiwanda, travels through or beside six State Parks and two National Wildlife Refuges, and offers repeated views of Tillamook Bay, Netarts Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. The course begins and ends at sea level and includes nearly 2,400 feet of total climb.
The full distance is a marathon 26.2 miles, and the course is divided into five relay legs. Leg distances vary and the route includes sections rated from easy to extremely difficult, with terrain and tidal beach segments on parts of the route. Runners can enter as a solo marathoner, a two person team, or a five person team. Team categories include Family, Business, School, and Clydesdale (all runners or walkers over 200 lbs).
Listed entry fees are $339 for a five person team, $165 for a two person team, and $95 for a solo marathoner. The event is organized by Ultimook and benefits youth running programs in the Pacific Northwest. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
