Thousand Flags Fun Run
The Thousand Flags Fun Run is a family friendly event held on May 24, 2026, at The Park at River Walk, West Pond, Bakersfield, CA. The event includes a 5K run/walk and a one mile memorial walk that pass through a display of over 1,000 American flags installed for Memorial Day weekend.

The 5K course runs through the flag adorned park and along the adjacent multi-use trail and is open to runners and walkers. The 5K will be timed and awards will be given to the top three finishers in each category. Proceeds will support the Thousand Flags display and other Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary community projects.
Registration opens January 31, 2026, and closes May 1, 2026; the published registration fee is $35.00 for each listed event. Participants who register by May 3, 2026, will receive a Thousand Flags T-shirt. Veterans participating in the event will be recognized with a complimentary Thousand Flags pin.
