The Thousand Flags Fun Run is a running and walking event held at The Park at River Walk in Bakersfield, California. It takes place on Memorial Day weekend.
Event Details
The event features two distances:
- A 5K course that goes through the park and onto an adjacent multi-use trail.
- A 1 Mile Memorial Walk.
The run takes place alongside a display of over 1,000 American flags, which is an annual Memorial Day weekend tribute. The events are timed. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each category for the 5K. Participants who register by a specific date are eligible to receive an event T-shirt. Veterans who take part receive a complimentary pin.
