Fog Run
The Probation Auxiliary County of Kern presents the 37th Annual Fog Run at Lake Ming in Bakersfield on January 9, 2027. The event offers a 5K road race, a 10K road race, and a virtual run. Proceeds benefit the Kern County Probation Department Helping Hands program, a nonprofit effort that provides scholarships, vocational training, mentoring, clothing, hygiene products, and other necessities for at-risk youth.
Organizers describe Helping Hands as aiming to remove barriers and equip youth with basic needs to increase self-esteem, confidence, and the drive to attend school. The on-course route overlooks mountains and views of Lake Ming.
