Thetford 24 Hour
The event is a non stop timed run held on the Backyard route in Thetford Forest. Events run to time limits of 6 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours. Entrants may compete as a solo runner, a pair, or a team of up to four runners. Participants complete as many full laps as they wish within their chosen time limit. Trophies are awarded to winners in each category and race and all finishers receive a bespoke wooden medal. Free camping is available onsite on Saturday night.
The route enters from one end of the field and includes a transition and handover zone where timing chips are swapped. Only one runner may be on course at any time, chips must be handed over only in the camp or transition area, only complete laps count, and all runners must wear their race numbers visible on the front. Supporters are not permitted on the course.
Basic event facilities include a food tent with hot and cold drinks and snacks, portable toilets on site, and additional toilets a short walk away at High Lodge. There is no power on site so participants should bring powerbanks. Small tents or gazebos may be used in the camping area but no stoves or fires are allowed. Rubbish must be taken home.
Entries are limited to 150 solo entries pairs or teams in total and close two weeks before the race. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees per person are set by event and category for each time limit. Insurance for entries is optional and adds 15 percent to the entry cost; teams and pairs cannot be insured.
