Course, facilities and race details
The course is based around York Racecourse and is mostly on tarmac with sections of trail, muddy parts and paths. The route is described as generally flat with a few undulating sections. Format: the 5k is one lap, the 10k is two laps and the half marathon includes an initial 1.1 km out-and-back followed by four full laps. The route is dog friendly and allows off-road running buggies; it is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Race numbers use a chip-on-bib timing system and results are published via Results Base. Participants receive a medal and there are trophies for winners. Water is provided in cups at the start, finish and at a 5k point for 10k runners. Bag storage, toilets and food and drink sales are available at the event hub.
