Event overview

The WMD Triathlon is organised by Bustinskin Triathlon Club and takes place at Weymouth College, Cranford Avenue, Weymouth, DT4 7SW on 14 June 2026. Race headquarters are at the college, close to the Weymouth Sealife Centre and the beach. A secure transition area is within 500 metres of the college. Facilities including café, toilets and parking are available within a few hundred metres.

Race formats and course

The event comprises three separate races with the following race distances:

  • Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
  • Classic: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
  • Middle distance: 1900 m swim, 90 km bike, 21 km run

The swim is an open sea, one-loop course in Weymouth Bay around marker buoys with safety craft and lifeguards on duty. The bike routes are described as rolling with scenic sections; the middle course uses mainly long, relatively flat roads. The run is multiple laps around Lodmoor nature reserve and finishes in the Weymouth College car park at the rear of Lodmoor Country Park. Water or hydration stations are provided at roughly every 2 to 3 miles on the run.

Logistics and entry

Registration and racking take place on the Sunday morning at Weymouth Sports College; participants must register on race morning. All races are chip timed by Timing Monkey. Awards are given to the top three males and females and the top age grouper in each event, and a race memento is provided to finishers. Technical T-shirts are available for purchase. Entry is open to entrants aged 18 and over on 31/12/2026. Entry fees range from £80 to £195 depending on race and relay options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
