The WILDness at Panorama Mountain Resort
The WILDness is a two day trail running event held at Panorama Mountain Resort in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. The 2026 dates are June 27 and 28. The event offers multiple course options, including a short 5 km fun run on a mix of pavement and trail.
Documented course options include:
- 36 km with about 2700 m of elevation gain.
- 13 km with about 850 m of elevation gain.
- 5 km fun run mix of pavement and trail.
Registration includes race entry, a participant item, a finisher item, a swag bag, and a BBQ ticket with a drink. The long stage has two aid stations located at roughly 8 km and 24.5 km; the short stage has a single aid station around 7.5 km. Aid stations provide salty and sweet snacks, some fruit, a limited selection of gels or waffles, water, electrolyte drink and cola. This is a cup free event so runners must bring their own drinking vessel.
There is mandatory gear for the long stage: a pack or hip belt with at least 1 litre of water capacity, a hat, gloves, a jacket, an emergency blanket or bivy and a reusable cup. Event rules require respect for volunteers, no littering, visible bibs and timing chips, staying on designated trails, earbuds in one ear only, and adherence to course cutoffs. Mandatory gear is checked before the long stage start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
