The Water Run 2026
The Water Run 2026 takes place in Medicine Hat, Alberta at the Veiner Centre, 225 Woodman Ave SE, on October 10, 2026. The event raises funds to bring clean water to the Turkana people of Kenya in partnership with Nehemiah Construction Ministries. The fundraising goal is CA$50,000 and CA$105.25 had been raised at the time of the listing.
The event offers in-person and virtual participation. Entrants may run individually or as part of a team, and teams can be created by participants. Distances available include:
- 3 km for youth and adults
- 5 km for youth and adults
- 10 km for youth and adults
- Virtual options for each distance
Entry includes a Water Run shirt, a medal, a swag bag, and a race bib with RacePro chip timing for in-person runners. Post-race water and snacks are provided. In-person timing is handled by RacePro. Virtual participants are asked to use the RunKeeper app to track and upload results.
Prizes are awarded to the top two male and female finishers in the 5 km and 10 km and to top pledge earners for adults and kids. Organizers request that participants leave pets at home. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
