The Walk for Unity
The Walk for Unity takes place on October 11, 2026 in Cleveland, Ohio, on Martin Luther King Dr. The event includes both a community walk and a running race organized by Rekindle, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on building trust across difference through dialogue and face to face connection.
Distances offered:
- 5K race (chip timed)
- 1 Mile walk
Rekindle is co founded and co led by Black and Jewish leaders and reports work that has reached 20+ cities. Fellows of the organization report measurable growth in their readiness to address hate and build bridges in everyday settings.
Registration opens March 4, 2026. Pre registration runs through September 30 with fees of $30 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 Mile. Late registration is available through race day with higher fees of $35 for the 5K and $30 for the 1 Mile.
Participants receive a T shirt. The 5K is chip timed. Post race refreshments are provided and awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
