The Valley Race – Half Marathon
The Valley Race takes place at Woodley Park in the San Fernando Valley. The event offers three distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
Courses use park paths and include grass sections, a tunnel under the road, a loop around the lake, and routes that cross to the other side of the park and pass under a bridge. The 5k is one loop; the 10k is two loops; the half marathon combines two loops plus the 10k route. The courses are on open paths shared with other park users.
On-course support includes multiple water stations, a finish-area aid station with water, electrolytes, and snacks, and first aid kits at each station. Crew members have received CPR training. Turns are marked with chalk and runner turn signs.
Onsite services include bib pick-up and a staffed gear check at the registration tent. Free parking is available in the lot, with additional parking along Woodley Avenue. All finishers receive a race medal. First place overall male and female medals are awarded for each distance. Results and race photos are sent by email the day after the race and race photos are provided free of charge.
An early start may be available for half marathoners by pre-arrangement; early starters are not eligible for awards. Registration opens 2025-07-07 and closes 2026-05-01, with fees listed per distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
