The Universal Sole Summer Trail Challenge
The Universal Sole Summer Trail Challenge is a trail running event on June 27, 2026 at Wolf Road Woods in the Palos Trail System, Willow Springs, Illinois. The event offers loop options that create three distance choices and uses single- and double-track paths with undulating terrain, crushed limestone, dirt, rocks, roots and occasional mud.
Distances available:
- 3 Miles one loop
- 6 Miles two loops
- 9 Miles three loops
Registration fees start at $40 and increase in tiers up to $55; no refunds or exchanges are available. Race-day packet pick-up and on-site registration occur the morning of the event at the Universal Sole tents. Water is available at the start/finish area and at the split aid station; Forest Preserve regulations prohibit aid stations on the trails. Organizers advise runners to carry a handheld bottle or hydration belt if on-course hydration is needed.
Finish-line provisions include granola bars and bananas, a premium giveaway for participants, and post-race beverages with an alcohol-free option. Awards include overall male and female honors and age-group awards with full age-group prizes for the 9 Mile race; a post-race raffle will be held on-site.
