The Ultra Loop - Delamere Forest
The Ultra Loop is an eight hour running event in Delamere Forest where participants run as many 6.02km loops as they can within the time limit. Each completed lap is recorded and the final results show the number of laps, total distance and elapsed time.
The course is mixed terrain, combining gravel paths and light forest trails, with total elevation around 117m (383 ft) per loop. The route climbs to Old Pale Viewpoint, passes around Blackmere Lake and returns to the same start and finish line that also records lap times. The course is not closed to the public so walkers and dog walkers may be present.
The event village and aid station are located around the start and finish. The aid station provides water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes supplied by the event sponsor VOOM. Participants may use a bag drop and leave personal food and drink at the aid station. Organisers operate a bring your own bottle policy and will not provide cups. Portable toilets are available.
Race entry costs £34 and the event is scheduled for 18 October 2026 at Delamere Forest, Frodsham WA6 6NB. Participants aged 12 to 15 must arrange their place with the organiser and attend with a parent or guardian; under 12s are not permitted. Race bibs are collected on the morning of the event.
