About the race
The Ultra Loop at Delamere Forest is an 8 hour looped running event where participants run as many 6.08 km laps as they can within a strict time limit. The course mixes gravel roads and light woodland trails and records lap times each time a runner passes the single start/finish line. Every finisher receives a recorded finishing time and a medal. The route explores Delamere Forest around Old Pale Viewpoint and Blackmere Lake, with total elevation gain of about 118 m.
The surface varies between gravel paths and trails, so trail shoes are recommended. The course is not closed to the public and runners may encounter walkers and dog walkers. The event village and the singular aid station are located at the start/finish area. The aid station provides water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes supplied by the event sponsor VOOM.
Participants may use a bag drop and may leave personal food and drink at the aid station. The event operates on a bring your own bottle basis; cups are not provided. Portaloos are available at the aid station.
Spectators may gather at the start/finish and participant crews may set up individual aid points there. Entry requires registration and entrants receive confirmation and an event guide by email. Runners aged 12 to 15 require prior organiser contact and a guardian to attend; children under 12 are not permitted. Results show laps completed, total distance and elapsed time; any laps not finished before the cut-off are excluded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
