The Trak Shak Retro Run 5K
The Trak Shak Retro Run 5K in Homewood, Alabama is a themed community running event held on July 25, 2026. The event features a 3.1 Miles course that includes one water stop on Manhattan Street, which participants pass twice and which is hosted by the Birmingham Track Club.
Live music by local band Redwood anchors a retro Country and Southern rock theme. A costume contest is part of the event; contestants must complete the full 5K to be eligible, contestants are selected by observers at the finish line, and the contest winner receives $100 cash. Participants receive a bib that also serves as a food and beer ticket and a race shirt. Extra food and beer tickets are available for purchase, and nonrunners may purchase only a food and beer ticket. Food is provided by Oak Hill Bar & Grill and beer is supplied by Birmingham Budweiser, with service available to those 21 and over.
