The Trail Running Series - Anglesea course description
The event on Sunday 5 July 2026 uses a coastal and bush setting with undulating terrain. All races start on the white sand of Anglesea Main Beach before runners move inland onto a mix of single track and double track through coastal bushland. Several courses finish with a descent on the Surf Coast Walk that passes clifftop lookouts with views toward Point Roadknight, Aireys Inlet and Lorne.
Distances and ascent:
- Long course: 27.6 km, 560 m ascent, water points at 11.3 km and 22.7 km.
- Medium course: 16.2 km, 340 m ascent, water point at 11.2 km.
- Short course: 8.0 km, 190 m ascent, no water points.
- Friendly 4 km: 4.3 km, 80 m ascent.
Course notes describe beach running, cliff top trails, flowing single track and sections through Ironbark Basin. The long course includes a loop to Point Roadknight and extended coastal views. The short course climbs to a highpoint lookout before descending to the beach. The Friendly 4 km loops to Point Roadknight and returns along the beach when tides allow.
Course marking varies by distance and uses colored arrows, colored surveyor tape and white flour arrows. Surveyor tape will confirm correct tracks at junctions and competitors should follow the most major track at intersections when not otherwise marked. A recorded finish line sprint time over the final 100 to 200 m will identify fastest male and female sprinters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
