About the race
The Thoroughbred Run Kildare is an annual running event held through the Irish National Stud, scheduled for Father’s Day, 20 June 2027. The event is in its 14th year and offers multiple race distances that start from different points around Kildare town.

- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Start locations for each distance are given on event materials and include Tully road (marathon), Rowanville estate (half marathon), beside Kildare Railway Station (10K), and the old road between Round Towers GAA and KWETB (5K). All finish lines are on Tully road, where access for spectators is limited.
Race numbers are available for collection the day before and on the morning of the event unless a postal option was chosen. T shirts purchased, and marathon T shirts, are distributed at the finish; medals are provided to all participants at the finish. Number transfers between runners are prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
Practical arrangements noted by the organiser include an unsecured bag drop area (no valuables), portable toilets at several key locations including near Race HQ and start areas, no shower facilities, and water stations approximately every three miles. Course maps and live results are available from the organiser’s website.
