About the race
The Thornthwaite Round is a 15.6 km route with 870 m of ascent near Thornthwaite, Nr Keswick. The course follows flagged forest tracks and paths and open fell, taking in the checkpoints of Lord’s Seat, Broom Fell, Brown How, Whinlatter and Seat How. The section through the forest is marked and must be followed; other users may also be on the route.
The event raises funds for the restoration of Thornthwaite Church. Entry requires participants to be 18 or older. The standard entry fee is £12, with an increased fee of £15 for entries made on the day. The entry fee includes tea and homemade cake.
Limited parking is available at the venue. The X5 bus from Cockermouth or Keswick stops approximately 200 m from the start. The event takes place at Thornthwaite Church in the Thornthwaite area near Keswick. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
