The Thornthwaite Round
The Thornthwaite Round is a challenging 15.6km (9.7 miles) fell and trail running event held near Keswick, starting and finishing at Thornthwaite Church. The course features 870m (2850ft) of ascent over forest tracks, flagged paths, and open fell terrain, including checkpoints at Lord’s Seat, Broom Fell, Brown How, Whinlatter, and Seat How. The route is marked through the forest and requires mandatory safety kit in line with Fell Running Association standards.
